** NLSIU students bag laurels for Covid simulation

Two students of the Institute of Public Policy, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), have been declared regional winners of the 2021 NASPAA-Batten Student Simulation Competition.

Anirudh Jaiswal and Shubham Prakash have been ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Asia Zone.

More than 400 students from 120 universities in 30 countries took part.

The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in New Delhi has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with three Indian institutions for the establishment of Ambassadors scholarship programme for students of Vietnam to study undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

** Book on how ventilator was designed and built-in IIT Kanpur released

According to IIT officials, the book is a gripping testament to the sheer will and collaborative efforts of two brilliant Indians, who came together to build a world-class ventilator in just 90 days when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the country.

The duo — Nikhil Kurele and Harshit Rathore — had founded Nocca Robotics, an IIT Kanpur-incubated company to manufacture autonomous waterless solar panel-cleaning robots. When the pandemic struck and patients were dying due to a shortage of ventilators, they designed, developed and manufactured a scalable world-class ventilator in just three months.

Koo, which came into the limelight last month amidst a stand-off between the Indian government and Twitter, faced backlash over Chinese funding.

India’s tech CEOs and former cricketer Javagal Srinath have bought the stake of Chinese investor Shunwei Capital in Bombinate Technologies, the parent firm of the homegrown social media network, Koo.
