** UoH start-up introduces Covid treatment through stem cells

Transcell Oncologics, a biotech startup company incubated at ASPIRE-Technology Business Incubator (ASPIRE-TBI), University of Hyderabad (UoH), on Monday announced a breakthrough human umbilical cord tissue harvested and clinically processed adult Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) based therapy to Covid patients, a press release from UoH said.

Aashi Hanspal, teen Karting Star Racer is shortlisted for ‘ FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars Project’.

The 13-year Aashi has been selected to compete in the Age group 12 -16, out of 70 entries from 5 continents. The final shoot out of the ‘Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Girls on Track , is at Paul Richard circuit in France.

The competition is for the opportunity to become first-ever female driver to be a part of the Ferrari’s 2021 Formula 4 season.

Indian-American Sethuraman Panchanathan Appointed to Head America’s top Science Funding Body : June 2020

American Scientist – Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan has been appointed by U.S President Donald J Trump as the 15th Director , of the National Science Foundation (NSF). The term is for 6 years.

The NSF is the top American body supporting fundamental research on non-medical fields of science. It has a budget of USD 7.4 billion .

Actress Radhika Apte’s directorial debut short film ‘The Sleepwalkers’ has won the ‘The Best Midnight Short Award’ at Palm Springs International Short Fest, USA.

The short film stars Shahana Goswami and Gulshan Devaiah and is centred on the subject of sleepwalking.
