** DRDO-developed monolithic microwave integrated circuits on board EOS04 satellite

Monolithic microwave integrated circuits developed by the DRDO are on board the EOS04 satellite launched on February 14 by the Indian Space Research Organisation, the Defence Ministry stated on Friday.

The circuits have been used in radar imaging modules of the satellite, the ministry said in a statement.

** Pricol partners with US-based company

utomotive technology major Pricol has announced a strategic technology partnership with Sibros Technologies, a California-based company that provides Over-the-Air (OTA) connected vehicle software systems for OEMs worldwide.

A press release from Pricol said the partnership is to deliver deep connected vehicle solutions in Indian and ASEAN markets.

The connected, all-in-one platform of Sibros will complement Pricol’s suite of products on Driver Information Systems (DIS) and telematics.

Making a demographic comparison between Asian and Western countries, Denmark Ambassador to India H.E. Freddy Svane has said that India and other Asian societies are younger and will fulfil the world’s requirements in the days to come.

“India is the youngest country in the world. India and other Asian countries have more young population compared to the Western countries where the aged population is dominant. The future of the world relies on India which will turn into the world’s talent hub. The world needs you,” Mr. Svane said in his address to mediapersons at PDA Engineering College here on Wednesday.

** Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Goutham Reddy dies of heart attack in Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh Information Technology and Industries Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy (50) passed due to heart attack in Hyderabad.

Son of former YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy, Mr. Goutham Reddy had returned to Hyderabad after his visit to Dubai to participate in the Expo on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh Government.

Reddy had done his post graduation in United Kingdom and returned to India. He made his political debut in 2014 on YSRCP ticket from Atmakur Assembly constituency in Nellore district and scored a comfortable victory. He repeated the feat again in 2019 from the same seat and went on to become Minister for Industries and Information Technology Minister.

In a very short span, Goutham Reddy made a mark in the portfolio allocated to him and at the time of pandemic, he under the guidance of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched revival package for manufacturing and service sector in the State, who were reeling under severe crisis on account of the lockdown.

The QR-code based label will capture vital parameters of the carpet such as GI user, manufacturer, artisan, knots per square inch, the material used, among others.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha launched the QR-code for handmade Kashmir carpets, claiming to be first-of-its-kind in the country. Customers could now verify the authenticity and other requisite details of carpets produced in Jammu and Kashmir and assure themselves that the product they purchased was not fake.


The QR code-based system can help in checking the cheating and misbranding that has badly dented the carpet Industry in Kashmir.

Gitanjali, an Indian-origin student from the US, is an accomplished inventor, having come to the forefront with Tethys, a device that detects lead levels in water and transmits the information over Bluetooth.
