Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane was conferred the rank of Honorary General of the Nepal Army in November 2020 by the Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari. General Naravane, apart from meeting the top hierarchy of the Nepalese Army, had also met Prime Minister KP Oli during his three-day visit.
** Arunachal to showcase ‘heroic village’ near the China border

Arunachal Pradesh is planning to serve the country one of its most patriotic destinations on the 75th year of Independence — Kaho, a village on the China border.
The State’s Department of Information, Public Relations and Printing has sent a 12-member team to Kaho in Anjaw district for filming a documentary on the village and its people.
** Army officer creates Guinness world record cycling from Gujarat to Arunachal
Lt. Col. Pannu is passionate about cycling and has created two consecutive world records for fastest solo cycling.
“Cycling is liberating, it is an elixir to the soul,” said Lt. Col. Bharat Pannu, a serving Electronics and Mechanical Engineer (EME) officer in the Army, as he bagged his third Guinness world record by cycling across the country from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh covering a distance of 3,800 km in nine days seven hours and five minutes.
His effort was part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971, which is being observed as ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ in honour of the Soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
** Navy takes delivery of guided missile destroyer Visakhapatnam

The first ship of the four Project-15B state-of-the-art stealth guided missile destroyers, Visakhapatnam, being built at the Mazgaon Docks Limited (MDL), was delivered to the Navy last Friday. Delayed by three years, the ships will be commissioned very soon.

Commodore Deepak Kumar has taken over as the Commanding Officer of INS Venduruthy and Station Commander, Kochi Area.
He is the 45th Commanding Officer of the 77-year-old establishment that provides administrative support to Naval units in and around Kochi.
** Indian Navy’s stealth frigate Tushil launched in Russia
Of four frigates contracted by India, two are being built by Russia and two in India
The first of two additional Krivak or Talwar-class stealth frigates, Tushil, being built in Russia for the Indian Navy, was formally launched into the waters, the Navy said on Friday.
It is part of four follow-on frigates contracted by India from Russia, of which two are being built by Russia and two are under construction in India through technology transfer.
** DRDO, IAF jointly test long range bomb
The bomb has been designed and developed by Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad in coordination with other DRDO laboratories.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday, October 29, 2021, jointly flight-tested an indigenously developed Long Range Bomb (LRB) from an aerial platform.
