United States surgeon general Dr Vivek Murthy has donated Covid related medical equipment to small hospitals in Mandya and Kodagu districts.

Murthy a native of Hallegere in Mandya district contributing through his Scope Foundation.

** Centre asks private news channels to display four new helpline numbers

** Indian origin individuals in US donate two oxygen concentrators to Vaishali PHC

Settled in the US, Sanjay Gupta, Manika Agrawal, Ankit Agarwal, Chaitali, Vikas Malik and Kavindra Taliyan formed a voluntary group called “CovidCare4U.Org” in Madison to help people and health care centres located in rural areas of India that provide free treatment to Covid-19 patients. 

** Turkey sends assistance, recalls Gandhi’s support to liberation struggle

Turkish assistance consisted of 50 MT of medical supplies including 5 oxygen generators, 680 oxygen cylinders, 50 ventilators and 50,000 boxes of anti-viral medicine. The consignments were sent on board two A400M military cargo aircraft.

A statement from the Embassy of Turkey informed that Mr. Cavusoglu offered to send the assistance during the telephone conversation held on April 26.

Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) have developed oral solution, which could be mass-produced now, to treat ‘black fungs’ providing huge relief to patients affected with it and doctors finding it hard to treat the patients due to the poor availability of the present medicine.

After two years of advancement of examination, the researchers are now confident that the technology can be transferred to suitable pharma partners for large-scale production.
