From ‘Operation Sukoon’ to ‘Operation Safe Homecoming’ and ‘Operation Rahat’, India has successfully evacuated its citizens in war zones over the past three decades.

More than 18,000 Indians have been safely evacuated back to their home country from war-torn Ukraine via special flights over the last one week as the Russian invasion of the country rages on. Under the central government’s ‘Operation Ganga’, 76 flights were sent to Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova to rescue Indian citizens stuck in Ukraine.

** ISSF World Cup: Rhythm, Anish win gold on final day, India top medals tally

Indian shooters won two medals on the final day of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2022 in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.

The Indian team finished on the top of the medals tally with a total of seven medals comprising of four gold, two silver and one bronze.

In the last event of the ISSF World Cup, Rhythm Sangwan and Anish Bhanwala won the 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team gold medal match against Thailand by defeating them 17-7.

(RIL), have entered into an agreement to create a joint venture through investment in Sanmina’s existing Indian entity Sanmina SCI India Private Ltd. (SIPL). The day-to-day business will continue to be managed by Sanmina’s existing management team in Chennai, which will be seamless from an employee and customer perspective. The joint venture will create an electronic manufacturing hub in India and will prioritise high technology infrastructure hardware, for growth markets, and across industries such as communications networking (5G, cloud infrastructure, hyperscale datacenters), medical and healthcare systems, industrial and cleantech, and defence and aerospace.  In addition to supporting Sanmina’s current customer base, the joint venture will create a ‘Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence that will serve as an incubation centre to support the product development and hardware start-up ecosystem in India, as well as promote research and innovation of leading-edge technologies

India is clearly the natural leader in the region in terms of the vision the Quad signs up to in the Indo-Pacific region, and the multi-nation defence exercise, MILAN, held in Vishakapatnam demonstrates the cooperation across countries in the Indo-Pacific, Australian High Commissioner to India, Barry O’Farrell said.

“The exercise Milan where 14 countries, including Australia, took part, demonstrates the co-operation across countries in the Indo-Pacific to secure a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific. In terms of the vision the Quad signs up to with relation to the Indo-Pacific, India is clearly the natural leader in the region. The good news is that all four countries [India, Australia, USA and Japan] are working together, whether it is on vaccine rollout, disaster relief and other issues like climate change,” Mr. O’Farrell told The Hindu.

** Virat Kohli’s 100th Test: A look at his journey in whites so far

In the first 10 years of Test cricket, nobody has amassed as many centuries as Kohli did.

Virat Kohli has come a long way as a Test cricketer since his debut in 2011 against West Indies. The Delhi-lad did not have a good run in the first match as he could only score 19 runs. But after a decade-long journey, Kohli is now all set to play his 100th Test match in Mohali on March 4.

Having donned the white jersey in 99 Test matches, Kohli has scored 7962 runs at a stellar average of 50.39. Kohli led the Indian team in 68 Tests and won 40 matches. He has a wholesome win percentage of 58.82%.

Eyeing a new world record for batting the longest, Mumbai teen Siddarth Mohite stayed at the crease for a whopping 72 hours and five minutes during a marathon net session and is now waiting for the Guinness Book of World Record to recognise the feat.

The 19-year-old Mohite passed compatriot Virag Mane’s 50-hour record, created in 2015, before batting for 72 hours and five minutes over the weekend.
