** 24-year-old from Kerala throws 426 punches in 60 seconds, enters Guinness World Records

Rafhan Ummer from Kozhikode recently entered the Guinness World Records for throwing the most full extension strikes on a punching pad.

The 24-year-old from Kozhikode swung his fist an amazing 426 times in just 60 seconds, breaking the previous record set by the kickboxer and martial artist Pavel Trusov from Slovakia. His official count was 334.

With over eight years of experience in Kung Fu and four in boxing, landing punches is already Rafhan’s cup of tea.

he most awaited trending and entertaining Doha Music Lovers ‘Voice of World’ Online singing competition ended on September 10, 2021 by finding its three winners of both Hindi and Telugu languages simultaneously.

The three winners announced in Hindi were Tejaswi from California, USA, Jyotisha Santosh from Doha, Qatar and Shruthi Prabhala from Bilaspur, India. Indian para shooter Avani Lekhara, who won the 10m Air Rifle – SH1 gold for the country at the Tokyo Paralympic Games on Monday, said that she was feeling “on top of the world” and would be aiming for more glory here as well as in the future.

The 19-year-old Avani became the first Indian woman to win gold in the Paralympic Games when she shot a world record score of 249.6 in the finals on Monday. This is also India’s first gold medal in shooting in the Paralympic Games.

Bhagya Puttalingappa, a native of Karnataka, has been practising yoga since the age of eight and her childhood passion earned her not only a double place in the India Book of Records, but she also earned a spot in the Canada Book of Records.

In the India Book of Records, Bhagya holds one record for performing Shirshasana (head standing pose) on a chair for one minute and seven seconds and another record for performing the maximum yoga poses standing on her head for one minute.

Indian girls won five medals including three silver medals.

In the 61kg category, Ravinder was the lone Indian to make it to the final only to lose Iranian rival Rahman Amouzadkhalili 9-3. Ravinder beat Levik Mikayelyan of Armenia 12-2 in the semifinals.

Yash (74kg), Gourav Baliyan (79kg), Pruthviraj Patil (92kg), Deepak (97kg), Anirudh (125kg) utilized the full use of the repechage round and went on to win bronze medals.
