U.S Headquartered – Google’s First India-born CEO . 2015 .
Pichai Sundararajan (aka. Sundar Pichai) American–Indian was appoined as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the U.S. headquartered global giant Google Inc. A hugely high-profile job in the US technology industry . August 10th, 2015
The restructuring of Google made Alphabet Inc., into Google’s parent company. Larry Paige is now the CEO and Sergey Brin the President of Alphabet. Subsequent to the completion of the restructuring Sundar Pichai assumed the postion of CEO on October 02nd, 2015.
Pichai joined Google in 2004 and was formerly Product Chief in Google.
Sundar Pichai earned his Bachelor’s Degree B.Tech, at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT,Kharagpur) in Metallurgical Engineering. Followed by a Masters M.S. from Stanford University in Material Sciences. An MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He was named ‘Siebel Scholar’ and ‘Palmer Scholar’.
Sundar Pichai was born on July 12th, 1972 in Madurai,TamilNadu(India) to Regunatha Pichai and Lakshmi. His father was a Senior Electrical Engineer in British General Electric, Madras(now Chennai).
He is married to his same-year classmate Anjali Pichai, a chemical engineer of IIT,Kharagpur and has 2 children

Inderbir Singh Sodhi (aka. Ish Sodhi) made his debut for the New Zealand National Cricket team (nicknamed ‘BlackCaps’) against Banglasdesh during the New Zealand tour of Bangladesh . October 2013.
He was born on October 31st, 1992 in Ludhiana, Punjab(India) to Rajbir Singh Sodhi and mother Simrat Sodhi. The Sodhis migrated to Auckland in 1992 when Ish was only 4 years old.
At an early age he was enrolled in Papatoetoe Cricket Club, South Auckland . Ish Sodhi developed into a right arm leg spin bowler and began his cricketing career representing the Northern Districts.

India’s First Individual Olympic Medal in Tennis : 1996
Leander Adrian Paes won the bronze medal* in the Men’s single tennis at the Summer Olympics Games 1996 / Atlanta Olympics in USA. August 31st,1996.
Paes shared the podium with Andre Agassi(3 Grand Slam Winner)and Sergi Bruguera(2 Grand Slam Winner)
Leander Paes, Indian Professional Tennis Player is considered one of the best doubles and mixed doubles players in the world.
The 23 year-old was India’s first athlete since 1952 to win in individual sports . Leander Paes won for India after a long spell of 44 years where India had been without an individual medal. In 1952 K.D. Jadhav won a bronze medal in wrestling.
He began playing tennis at the age of 5 and in 1985 joined Britannia Amritraj Tennis Academy in Madras(now Chennai) where he was coached by Dave O’Meara.
Leander Paes was born in Calcutta(now Kolkata)on June 17th,1973 to Dr.Vece Paes(National Hockey Bronze medallist- Munich Olympics 1972) and mother Jennifer Paes(Captained the Indian Basket Ball team – Asian Basketball Championship 1980). He currently lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Indian-American appointed President & CEO of ‘Bank of the West’ USA . April 2016.
Nandita Bakshi has been appointed President and CEO of ‘Bank of the West’, Corporate Headquarters in San Francisco, California.
She joins the Bank of April 01st as CEO-in-training on April 01st and will take the helm officially on June 01st, 2016
Bank of the West is a unit of the French banking giant BNP Paribas. The California based Bank operates more than 600 retail, wealth, commercial and business banking offices in 22 states.
Bakshi previously held Senior positions at:
EVP Head of Consumer Banking – TD Bank (New Jersey), EVP and Head – North American Direct Channels
Executive positions at :
Washington Mutual, Seattle (Washington – now JP Morgan Chase), Fleet Boston (now Bank of America), First Data Corp, Home Savings of America and Banc One Corp.
